Bridals

Rachel's Bridals | Waco Bridal Photography

Only hours before this session, the sky was full of ominous thunderclouds and rain was falling in various areas of Waco. Jason and I watched the storms roll in from our porch and wondered if we would be able to make this session work. Family sessions in rain can be fun, and rain on a wedding day can actually make for some amazing shots. But rain for bridal portraits isn't preferred, especially since it's the first time the bride's worn her perfectly altered dress outside and she needs it to still look perfect a month later on her wedding day. So we watched and we waited.

Then the rain moved on and the sky cleared, and the only thing left in it's wake was a very humid and muggy evening.

We met Rachel and her fiance, Mike, through our involvement with the Waco Wedding Professionals group. They both help front the Texas Heatwave Band, an amazingly talented cover band who take any reception or party to the next level. From our very first meeting, we knew they were so fun and were excited to be a part of their wedding day team. They both have this infectious energy, and heart-warming smiles, so you can't help but have fun when you're around them. Therefore, we knew that even if there had been rain, even if there was some mud and crazy humidity and mosquitoes (and OH MY WORD, were there mosquitoes!), Rachel was going to have a blast at her bridal portraits and we were going to have a blast being around her.

And we were right. She showed up wearing her gorgeous dress, enthusiastically showing us her blinged-out, blue-suede Bagdley Mischka shoes. She brought along her sweet mama and fun-loving stepdad, and it became apparent where Rachel's warmth and fun spirit came from. Her fun and warm spirit were so easy to capture on camera, and she knocked this session out of the park.

Rachel, you were a true joy to work with and an even more beautiful bride. Thank you for letting us into your circle!

Ashlee's Bridals | Moon River Ranch

You know that moment when you are attending a wedding and you're waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle because you can't wait to see her in her gorgeous dress?

Well, that's how I always feel when we head to a bridal shoot. I'm getting a sneak-peek at what everyone is still going to have to wait weeks to see. And when our #JandMbride comes out in her dress, it always takes my breath away.

Ashlee was no exception. We had so much fun shooting her engagement portraits with her fiance, Matt. I was looking forward to seeing what sort of gown Ashlee had chosen, and when I saw her, all I could think was, "That's perfect!" It was such a beautiful, elegant gown, which completely went with her style and vision for her wedding day.

Since Ashlee and Matt were getting married at one of our favorite venues in the Waco area, Moon River Ranch, we were able to meet her there for her bridal portrait session. There's something so special about taking pictures of bride in her gown in the exact spot she will say "I do" in just a few weeks.

Ashlee, you were radiant in your beautiful gown. Thanks for taking our breath away.

Teresa's Bridals | Seguin, TX

Teresa holds a special place in our hearts. Her family is extremely close with Jason's family, sharing holidays together for years. When Teresa became engaged to her sweet Cody and asked us to capture their love story, we were thrilled.

For her bridals, Teresa and her mother had planned everything, her look and the location. Jason and I were given an address and showed up...and our jaws dropped. This house in Seguin, Texas, owned by a friend, was GORGEOUS. The red stucco, the climbing vines, the stonework...with the evening sun we didn't think anything could be more beautiful.

And then Teresa came out in her dress.

The lace detail work and the open back, combined with the vintage feel perfectly accentuated with her birdcage veil, was so classic and simple and PERFECT.

It was a photographer's dream.

After shooting for a while, I remarked how impressed I was that she was able to hold such serious and stoic expressions without breaking. Turns out Teresa's study of karate helped her learn how to keep her game face on. The fierce face is probably intimidating on the mat, but in her bridals, she was able to keep this air of elegance flawlessly.

But with such a gorgeous smile, we had to showcase that too.

Congratulations to you once again, Mrs. Wilson. Thank you for letting us tell your story.
