When we photographed Jeremiah & Shannon for their engagement session, they showed off their dancing skills for us. Considering they met swing dancing in Austin, it’s no surprise this couple are great dancers and love dancing together. So we’ve been looking forward to their wedding reception and seeing them show off some more moves!

Before their fun reception, Jeremiah & Shannon were married in a beautiful Catholic ceremony at their church, St. Louis Catholic Church here in Waco, Texas. The grandeur of the sanctuary, with it’s large stained glass windows, provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

The solemness of the Mass, the grandness of Shannon’s cathedral-length veil down the aisle, the prayers and beautiful singing, all highlighted the grandness of the marriage journey beginning. But the little moments- Jeremiah smiling at Shannon when she wasn’t looking, the laughter between these Sweethearts as they exchanged rings and vows, and the look of joy they had for one another when they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs.- really showed the love they have for one another.

After their beautiful wedding ceremony, Jeremiah & Shannon invited all their family and friends to join them at Whitehall Center at the Carleen Bright Arboretum. There were so many fun details of this reception and special moments, it’s hard to list them all!

Jeremiah created and brewed 5 unique kinds of beer for his guests, even creating custom labels for every bottle. Shannon and her mother hand-crafted every detail, from her beaded bouquet and boutonnieres, to the decor and custom champagne glasses for toasts.

Jeremiah & Shannon did not disappoint in tearing up the dance floor, looking like professional dancers. But Shannon’s brothers were also amazing dancers, as were many guests, so the dance floor was full and fun all evening. From young to old, everyone danced the night away and celebrated the love of these Sweethearts.

And when the evening had come to an end, Jeremiah & Shannon had one private last dance at their wedding, then were sent off with cheers and waving ribbons to start their new life together.

Garrett & Kelli | Catholic Ceremony & Warehouse Reception | Hillsboro, Texas

It’s been such a joy to get to know Garrett & Kelli!

We first met them for a double-date over coffee to hear all about how their relationship started. And then had so much fun photographing them and their cute fur babies for their engagement session in College Station. So of course their wedding day was filled with joy, sweet moments and fun times!

These Sweethearts planned the perfect October wedding, with a more traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a reception at The Eagle Historic Warehouse in Hillsboro. For their ceremony decor, they allowed the beauty of the sanctuary to set the stage, with beautiful afternoon light shining through the stained-glass windows. The Warehouse was transformed into a moody, Great Gatsby vibe, with rich maroon linens, golden table settings, and dark lanterns that reminded you of Gatsby and Daisy.

There were so many details that Garrett & Kelli chose to make their wedding day reflect their love story and style. The bridesmaids dresses were gorgeous with their intricate detailing. The groomsmen looked dashing in their charcoal suits. The Sweethearts chose Italian for their dinner menu, and guests feasted on chicken parmigiana and linguine with clams. Instead of a traditional bride and groom’s cake, they chose cheesecake shooters, chocolate covered strawberries, and cannolis. And knowing what a fun and photogenic bunch they had in their bridal party, Garrett & Kelli rented beautiful antique furniture from Rent My Dust for a sitting lounge and photo area during the reception. And they definitely put it to good use!

But while all the decor and planning details came together perfectly, what really stands out from Garrett & Kelli’s wedding day are the little moments full of meaning and emotion. How these Sweethearts were surrounded not only by family, but by friends who are like family, all coming together to celebrate their love. How Kelli’s grandpa walked her down the aisle so proud. How Garrett’s face looked when the doors opened and he saw Kelli for the first time. How during the priest’s homily, Garrett & Kelli would steal glances and smile at one another. How at the reception Kelli surprised her brother by choosing “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash for their dance, and then the two of them danced together like they did when they were little kids. And how Garrett & Kelli were surrounded by all their favorite people and danced the evening away. It’s these moments we hope Garrett & Kelli remember as they think back over their wedding day!

Trevor & Stormy | Sweet Home, TX

Let me tell you about this girl right here.

Stormy was my (Melaina) roommate my final year of college, and though that year was a stressful haze of 18 hours of classes a semester and being way over-committed, I have some super fun memories with her. Like how Stormy sewed individual slip covers for every cushion on our ugly old couch to make our space more beautiful. How she let me draw her portrait for one of my theater class assignments and didn't laugh in my face when it looked like a 2nd grader had drawn her picture. And I will forever be grateful to her for introducing me to all six glorious hours of the BBC's Pride and Prejudice with Mr. Colin Firth.

Over the years since college we've seen each other occasionally but mostly remained connected through social media. Then one day we received an email from Stormy, asking if we'd be interested in shooting her wedding to her love, Trevor.

Um, YES!

Trevor and Stormy's wedding was beautiful and fun and so them. They were married in the breath-taking Catholic church they had attended as children in their hometown of Sweet Home, Texas. For the first half of their reception, they honored their Czech roots with trays and trays of kolaches and a polka band (A POLKA BAND!). And they danced the night away with their friends before driving off to their new life together.

Congratulations once again, Mr. and Mrs. Seekamp. Thank you so much for the honor of telling this chapter of your love story.  It was a blast!
